In 2018, Allwood Building Company was founded from desire to combine hands-on knowledge with an entrepreneurial spirit to deliver exceptional, personalized services to clients. Construction has always been a part of owner, Blaine Umphrey’s family legacy. His grandfather, father, and uncle all own and operate construction companies, creating an environment immersed in building.

From a young age, Blaine’s exposure to leadership, project management, and the intricacies of construction instilled values of hard work, attention to detail, and delivering high-quality results. Starting his company was a natural progression after spending a year living in his own custom-built home in Port Carling. Experiencing the satisfaction of creating a space perfectly tailored to a homeowner’s needs fostered a deep appreciation for home building and inspired Blaine’s commitment to helping others bring their vision to life.

Building his personal home also sparked a passion to create beautiful custom waterfront spaces & functional cottages for others. Blaine channels this energy into designing and constructing cottages that reflect the unique lifestyles of his clients, helping them experience the same pride and comfort found in a custom home.

Blaine’s business prioritizes craftsmanship, client relationships, and a bespoke approach to home building. Each project is an opportunity to bring a dream to life, and Blaine takes immense pride in every home he creates.

Outside of work, Blaine spends time with his wife, Kristen, their two young daughters, and their chocolate lab, Lily. Their love and support fuel his passion for building and inspires him to create spaces where other families can make their own memories.
